Meeting of the Partnership Interdepartmental Working Group Moderator of the Partnership WG meeting, Deputy Director of Department of Multilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan B.T. Kerimkulov, raised the following issues: 1. Updating statistical data on national indicators within the framework of the Partnership Working Group. 2. Determination of planned/target values for current indicators of 17 SDGs. 3. Consolidation of national indicators for responsible state bodies. 4. Preparation of a Voluntary National Review (within the framework of 17 SDGs). Head of Office for Statistics of the Sustainable Development Goals of the Bureau of National Statistics Dossanova Ainur spoke on the issues of updating statistical data on national SDG indicators. The speaker noted that the work on indicators is carried out in a systematic manner. Issues of determining planned/target values for current indicators of 17 SDGs, particularly indicators 17.3.1.2 "Ratio of gross direct investments outflow abroad from Kazakhstan direct investors to GDP, %", 1.2.1.3 "Ratio of gross direct investments inflow to Kazakhstan from foreign direct investors, %" and 17.3.2 "Ratio of personal transfers received (net wages of residents and personal transfers received) to GDP, %" have been addressed with representatives of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the current indicator 17.3.1.3, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan requested to submit planned/target values until 2030 from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The draft Concept of Voluntary National Review was presented by Madina Nurzhanova, Leading Expert of the Secretariat on Sustainable Development Goals of ERI. The speaker presented the main key features of the Voluntary National Review (VNR) of the second generation, the Draft Concept of Sustainable Development Goals of Kazakhstan 2022, and the Road Map for its preparation and follow-up. "A key objective of the second Voluntary National Review is to present progress on achievement of Sustainable Development Goals since the presentation of the first VNR," said the expert. The draft Concept of VNR of Kazakhstan-2022 presented the draft content of VNR of Kazakhstan-2022, and noted the importance of increasing interaction with stakeholders, representatives of civil society and businesses in the preparation of VNR of Kazakhstan-2022. Based on the plan of the Road Map for VNR preparation, the expert from ERI highlighted the points on further intensification of the discussion of the VNR Concept with government agencies, members of working groups, non-governmenta.organizations and experts, as well as other activities of the Road Map. The speaker also stressed the willingness to hold regular meetings of the members of Partnership WG to coordinate activities withing the VNR. At the end of the presentation, Vitaly Vremish, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Kazakhstan, supported the bottom-up approach suggested by Economic Research Institute, in particular the intention to hold field workshops in all 17 regions to conduct the "Mission 2030" Game. Vitaly Vremish also noted that the decision on the priority goals will largely depend on the Resolution of the Government. Bauyrzhan Kerimkulov, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, supported the initiative to apply the National Priorities approved by the Head of State at the beginning of this year, as well as plans to implement the VNR. At the same time, he stressed the importance of preparing for the thematic side-event on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on the SDGs at UN Headquarters in New York in 2022. As a result of the meeting, the members of the Partnership Interdepartmental Working Group decided to intensify preparations for the Coordinating Council meeting, to prepare for the VNR, to continue work on the SDG financial framework (Integrated National Financial Framework), to prepare a concept fo.organizing a thematic side-event on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on the SDGs at UN Headquarters next year.
