The Astana International Forum (AIF) is an international platform for dialogue that brings together leaders and experts to find practical solutions to global challenges through open dialogue, cooperation, and multilateralism.
The AIF was established in 2023 at the initiative of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and is held annually in the city of Astana.
The main mission of the Forum is to promote international cooperation and peace through dialogue and understanding of key global issues, focusing on four pillars: foreign policy and international security, international development and sustainability, energy and climate change, and economics and finance.
The AIF serves as a dialogue platform for high-ranking delegates from foreign governments, internationa.organizations, business, and academia to engage in dialogue and find solutions to issues related to geopolitical trends, climate change, food shortages, and energy security.
Organizational Structure of the AIF:
The composition of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the Astana International Forum is determined by the order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
By decision of the AIF Organizing Committee, JSC "Institute of Economic Research" has been designated as the bas.organization serving as the AIF Secretariat for overall coordination. Additionally, the Institute acts as one of the key partners i.organizing panel sessions on various areas of the global agenda.

June 8-9, 2023 - Forum theme: “Tackling Challenges Through Dialogue: Towards Cooperation, Development, and. Progress”
In 2023, the AIF hosted over 5,000 delegates from more than 50 countries. Among the distinguished guests were heads of state, representatives of major corporations, and internationa.organizations such as the IMF, WTO, WB, OSCE, UNESCO, SCO, EBRD, ADB, and others. The program included 40 panel sessions and side events.
June 13-14, 2024 - Forum theme: "Empowering People, Uniting Nations: Building a Better World Together." Postponed to 2025 due to unprecedented floods.
