Fuel import

14.10.2020

Kazakhstan has banned the import of light oil products until November 1.

According to the Order "On Certain Issues of the Supply of Petroleum Products to the Republic of Kazakhstan" dated October 9, 2020, the import of gasoline, aviation and diesel fuel into Kazakhstan by rail, road and pipeline transport is prohibited.

Additional volumes of imported fuel may result in:

- to reduce the volume of oil products shipped from Kazakhstan refineries;

- overstocking of factory tank farms, as well as storage bases of all oil depots in the country;

- as a result, a forced reduction in oil refining, which will lead to a decrease in the production of other valuable types of petroleum products, such as diesel and aviation fuel.

Approval of the order will ensure a comfortable balance between the volumes of produced and consumed petroleum products.

Recall that in July, a ban was imposed on the import of gasoline, aviation and diesel fuel until September 1.
