26.10.2020
An interactive economic map of regions was presented in the Government. This project will help determine production directions of the Kazakhstan regions and study the effectiveness of state support measures.
The map already includes data from Kostanay, Karaganda regions and Shymkent. "An interactive economic map of regions should become the basis for formulation of regional development programs for 2021-2025. Data should be updated on a periodic basis. The project office should determine an exhaustive list of indicators for akimats and development institutions", Prime Minister Askar Mamin said during a meeting of the project office on entrepreneurship. Meeting on entrepreneurship also discussed implementation of the "Economy of simple things" program. It has already approved about 2.5 thousand projects worth KZT 603 billion. On October 1, the sixth package of amendments to "Economy of simple things" program came into force, which are designed to provide significant support in restoring economic activity. Thus, inclusion of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan as a program operator will allow financing infrastructure projects aimed at import substitution. It is planned to reduce the time for reviewing and issuing guarantees of the Damu Fund from 25 to 15 business days. For projects in agricultural sector, a guarantee mechanism of the Fund of Financial Support of Agriculture JSC in the amount of 50 to 85 percent has been introduced. Under the "Economy of simple things" preferential credit program, 2,492 projects worth KZT 603 billion were approved, and 2,192 projects worth KZT 364.5 billion were subsidized. Almaty, Kostanay and East Kazakhstan regions became the leaders in developing new projects, while the lowest indicators were recorded in Akmola, Mangistau and West Kazakhstan regions. According to instruction of the Head of State on introduction of digital control over counter obligations of business, the Prime Minister instructed to consider issue of making appropriate changes in the legislation within a month.
