Arman Shakkaliyev was appointed as a new member of the Board (Minister), Eurasian Economic Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, by resolution of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
His competence will include issues of antitrust regulation and competition in the cross-border markets of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Arman Shakkaliyev held senior positions in the Ministries of Finance, Economy and Budget Planning of the Republic of Kazakhstan in different years. From 2008 to 2016, he was the Director of the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Certification, and from 2016 to 2018, he headed the Department of Technical Regulation and Accreditation of the EEC. Immediately prior to his appointment as Minister for Competition and Antitrust Regulation, he served as Chairman of the Technical Regulation and Metrology Committee in the Ministry of Investment and Trade and the Ministry of Trade and Integration.
Arman Shakkaliyev has replaced Serik Zhumangarin on this post in the Commission, who became Chairman of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition of Kazakhstan.
