The social medical insurance fund received 550.4 billion tenge in the form of contributions and deductions for the compulsory medical insurance system (OSHI) in 2020 . From July 1, 2017 to December 31, 2020, 798 billion tenge was transferred to the fund, Bolat Tokezhanov, board chairman of the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), told at the briefing in the CCS about the Fund's plans for 2021. 

He noted that the size of the main procurement for 2021 is about 1.5 trillion tenge. "We forecast an increase in this amount by an average of 20 percent by the end of the year. The Fund's suppliers are currently 1,373 medica.organizations, of which 704 are state-run or 51 percent, 669 are private or 49 percent," - continued Bolat Tokezhanov. 

He stressed that, given the grown needs of the population and the epidemic situation in the country, the medical care procurement volume has been increased.

"In the package of the guaranteed volume this concerns medical care for patients with infectious diseases, with oncology, palliative services. For the insured population, the volume of specialized medical care, including in rural districts, of expensive high-tech services has been increased," Tokezhanov said. According to him, there are also plans to raise doctors’ salaries to 30% and nurses’ salaries - up to 20%. For these purposes, about 132 billion tenge is provided. The financing volume of medical services in rural districts is to grow by 20%.
