Indicators of the wages growth:

Nominal wages in Kazakhstan increased by 14.6% in 2020, while real wages increased by 7.3%. The average amount for 2020 was $515 (KZT 212.6 thous.). The Republic has demonstrated the highest rates in comparison with the rest of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

According to the consolidated information of the Eurasian Economic Commission, in 2020, the income of citizens of all member states of the union increased.
 
Armenia has the lowest rates: nominal wages in the Caucasus country increased by only 3.9%, real wages-by 2.7%, and Kyrgyzstan, where real incomes increased by only 1.3%.

In Russia, the nominal salary has changed by 6%, the real-by 2.5%. Citizens of this country earn an average of $710.

Kazakhstanis receive 27% less than their northern neighbors – $515 (KZT 212.6 thous.), but more than the residents of Belarus, where the average salary is $508. The lowest nominal salary last year was for citizens of Kyrgyzstan – $239.

The business activity index in Kazakhstan in February increased by 0.6 points to – 49.

The largest increase was in the services sector, where the index rose to 49.2 from 47.4 in January.

In construction, the indicator fell to 47.4 (51.1 in January), in industry-to 49.0 (49.4 in January).

According to the National Bank, in February, business activity indicators improved in the North Kazakhstan region (54.0) and in Nur-Sultan (52.5), and decreased in Turkestan region (42.6).

According to the ministry, in general, infrastructure, access to finance and credit, as well as business protection have improved. At the same time, the demand for products/services and the tax burden remain factors that negatively affected the business environment.
