KZ Ambassador met with Saudi Prince

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia Berik Aryn met with the Kingdom Holding Company chairman - Prince Al-Walid bin Talal. The parties discussed bilateral possibilities in the implementation of investment and socially significant Kazakhstani projects in such areas as: healthcare, tourism, hotel business, petrochemicals, and so on. An important theme for conversation was interaction and experience exchange between Kazakhstan and the charitable foundation "Alwaleed Philanthropies" headed by Prince Al-Walid bin Talal. It should be noted that Kingdom Holding, led by Ben Talal, is one of the largest investment conglomerates in the world. Its activities cover various areas: aviation, financial services, real estate, tourism, media, petrochemicals, healthcare, education, technology and much more. Today Kingdom Holding owns shares in such global brands as Citigroup, Twitter, Uber, AccorHotels, Four Seasons, Savoy, Fairmont, Jingdong Inc., Rotana, etc. The Saudi holding also has assets in a number of international hotels located in Kazakhstan. In turn, the Alwaleed Philanthropies Foundation is a large charitabl.organization whose main activity is to fight poverty around the world, help victims of natural disasters, empower women and children, and support academic centers through long-term charitable investments. Over the forty years of its existence, the Fund has provided various assistance to more than 1 billion people in 189 countries of the world for more than 4 billion US dollars. The Foundation also donated $ 30 million to the World Health Organization helping fight the COVID-19 pandemic in May this year. As a reminder, in mid-July 2020, Berik Aryn held negotiations with the founder and owner of SAJ Group, Hussam Al-Delaygan. They discussed issues of investment cooperation between the countries in various fields such as agriculture, metallurgy and mining, and a number of Kazakhstani investment projects of interest to the Saudi businessman for consideration.
