04.08.2020
The National Bank of Kazakhstan set the official foreign exchange rates for 4 August. 1 US dollar - 420.07 tenge, 1 euro - 493.25, 1 RR - 5.68, 1 UK pound sterling - 547.86, Japanese yen - 3.97, Chinese yuan - 60.2, 1 Kyrgyz som - 5.47, 100 Uzbek soums - 4.12 tenge. For one day of exchange trades US dollar has risen in price by almost 3 tenge (compared with July 30 of 417.42 tenge per 1 dollar). "The exchange rate of the national currency is influenced by both external and internal factors. Among external ones, these are, first of all, oil prices. In the first half of the year, mineral products occupied more than 70% of all exports, and their prices fell due to the situation on the world markets. As a result, we've received a decrease in the supply of foreign currency in the domestic market and a negative impact on the tenge rate "- explained Nurzhan Tursunkhanov, Director of the Monetary Operations Department of the National Bank. According to him, the weakening of currencies is a general trend in the markets of developing countries. The Russian ruble is also a factor of the tenge exchange rate. "The ruble volatility against dollar has recently also been reflected in ruble's position against tenge. If in May-July the ruble-tenge exchange rate traded at 5.8 tenge, then the current weakening the pair: 5.67-5,70. At the same time, today, during the trading session, we observe a certain strengthening of ruble against US dollar, which will also be reflected in the parity of the tenge-ruble pair and its partial impact on tenge cours against US dollar at the Kazakh trading session tomorrow " - said in the message of the National Bank. As for other indicators of the exchange rate in Kazakhstan, euro has risen in price by more than 50 tenge over the month. The official euro cost is 493.25 tenge, while in some exchange offices it is sold for 505 tenge. The European currency crossed the 500 mark for the first time.
