More than 9.6 million medical masks, 65 thousand liters of antiseptics, over 388.2 thousand packages of various medicinal products in the amount of 819 million tenge were withdrawn from illegal circulation.

This became known during a meeting of the Security Council Office on ensuring economic security with the participation of Minister of Finance Zhamaubaev and Chairman of the Financial Monitoring Committee Elimanov.

The Security Council meeting considered the issues of: ensuring control over the targeted and rational use of budget funds allocated to the fight against coronavirus infection; suppression of illegal circulation of medicines and medical products; the fight against financial pyramids.

The issue o.organizing an integrated approach of combating the shadow economy and reducing the shadow turnover was considered separately.

As part of countering the shadow economy, the number of detected crimes on the facts of issuing fictitious invoices increased by 2.5 times (from 94 for 6 months of 2019 to 242 for the same period of this year). For example, a criminal case against a.organized criminal group that issued fictitious invoices for 1.8 billion tenge was sent to the court in Atyrau region,.

Compensation for the state economic damage is also an important area of ​​work. In the first half of the year, the Financial Monitoring Committee investigated 743 criminal cases, of which 560 were sent to court. The amount of the established damage in these criminal cases amounted to 38.4 billion tenge, of which about 32 billion tenge is damage to the state. 21.1 billion tenge was reimbursed to the state income.
 
Other priority areas: issues of combating financial pyramids (29 criminal cases were registered), illegal gambling establishments (117 criminal cases, 160 outlets liquidated), as well as counterfeiting (161 cases).

Meanwhile, work to curb corruption in its own ranks remains relevant, which must be carried out in a constant format.
