The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Customs Administration of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the PRC are planning to simplify the export of Kazakhstani agricultural products.
At the annual meeting of the heads of border customs authorities of the two countries, proposals were considered:
- on the opening in the East Kazakhstan region of a laboratory for control over the quality and safety of agricultural products, accredited according to the requirements of the General Customs Administration of the PRC;
- on the establishment of veterinary and phytosanitary posts with a laboratory certified by China on the territory of the Khorgos ICBC.
- The operation of such facilities would simplify and speed up the passage of Kazakhstani agricultural products through border control
Also, the Ministry of Agriculture made a proposal to speed up the procedures for reviewing and agreeing on veterinary and sanitary requirements for chilled meat, offal and other types of agricultural products exported from the Republic of Kazakhstan to the PRC. Additionally, the XUAR Customs Department proposed ways of cooperation in laboratory diagnostics of equine diseases imported from Kazakhstan.
