New International Airport

Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the opening ceremony of the Turkestan International Airport.
 
The new International Airport was built in accordance with international standards, using modern technologies and is located 20 kilometers from the city. Its total area will be 900 hectares. The terminal can serve about three million passengers a year.

A new road with a total length of 16.3 kilometers will be connected to the new airport.

To increase the tourist potential in the region, a special program has been developed, under which the number of tourists is planned to increase to five million by 2025. For this purpose, it is planned to launch direct flights from Turkestan to Mecca from the International Airport once every two days.

Turkestan Airport is the first airport in Kazakhstan built during the years of independence.
