Worldwide Government Indicators

The World Bank commended the consistent efforts of Kazakhstan government to strengthen government institutions, increase their efficiency, transparency and predictability.
According to the World Bank's annual study “Worldwide Government Indicators” in 2020, Kazakhstan showed improvement in 5 out of 6 indicators:
In terms of the regulatory climate quality, Kazakhstan has been showing the best results compared to the other five indicators for several years. Ensuring succession as well as the absence of internal and external conflicts have contributed to the improvement of political stability in the country. In terms of the rule of law, progress has been made through development of alternative dispute resolution system, law enforcement and improvements in civil and criminal legislation. The anti-corruption indicator has increased due to improvements in sub-indicators of public perception of corruption and reduction of corruption risks for doing business. According to the results of survey, the Fitch rating agency also noted a positive trend in Government's performance, strengthening credit assessment of national economy at the "BBB" level with an outlook - "stable". Credit agency noted the factors that maintain credit rating of national economy: low level of public debt, strengthening of state institutions, significant fiscal buffers including in foreign currency. Fitch also appreciated the growth potential of the Kazakhstan economy in mining and processing sectors.
