On January 18, a regular online meeting of experts from the Consortium of Economic Analytical Centers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the Consortium's work plan for 2022, based on preparation of a study “Analysis of macro trends, risk assessment with recommendations for system decision-making”.

As part of the study, global trends will be considered and a general analysis of macroeconomic situation of the SCO member states will be carried out as well.

This study is aimed at identifying mechanisms for strengthening coordination of macroeconomic policies in general and at the level of its individual elements in order to increase stability and competitiveness of economic systems of the SCO member states.

In addition, common development potentials and vectors of participating countries within the framework of SCO cooperation were highlighted: maintaining the policy of openness, development of traditional and alternative energy, digital economy, etc.

The SCO Consortium is a consulting and expert platform created to analyze priority areas of economic cooperation within SCO and develop recommendations. The Regulations on the Consortium of SCO Economic Analytical Centers were approved by resolution of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the SCO member states No. 120 dated November 2, 2019.
