30 years of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UN

Today is the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's membership in the United Nations (UN). On March 2, 1992, at the 46th session, Kazakhstan became the 168th full member of the United Nations, which testified to the international recognition of the state sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As the Head of State noted, "Kazakhstan has fruitfully cooperated with the United Nations for 30 years in global security and building a harmonious society. In the context of growing geopolitical tension, Kazakhstan advocates a stronger UN and its consolidating role".

In its activities, the SDG Coordination Council Secretariat works closely with UN agencies such as UNDP, UNICEF, ESCAP, UN Women, UNESCO and others. This cooperation has resulted in a number of studies in such important areas as: SDGs Development Finance Assessment (DFA); Development of the Kazakhstan Child Welfare Index; Document Gender Analysis of Local Executive Authorities (case study of Akmola region); Rapid Comprehensive Assessment (RCA) and many other projects.

It is important to note that UN agencies also facilitate the translation of Kazakhstan's successful experience to other neighbouring countries, with the latter being inspired by and adopting it.
