COVID-19: a challenge for economic growth

Economic recovery after the pandemic will be discussed online on October 7 at the International Conference "COVID-19: a challenge for economic growth".

The conference is arranged by the Economic Research Institute.

This is the first international format for holding online conferences of research institutes with invitation of the world economic community of scientists to a general dialogue.

All sessions will be in English.

During several thematic discussions, representatives of European countries and domestic experts will discuss Kazakhstan's investment opportunities in the context of post-pandemic economic recovery.

Macroeconomists and researchers will identify global and regional trends, current and future challenges in attracting investment, and possible effective tools to overcome them.

An era of moderate economic growth is coming. The gap between developing and developed countries will widen, and demand for energy resources will fall.

The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, which has paralyzed most of the world's economies, has come as the biggest shock to the global energy market since World War II.

Generation of renewable energy sources (RES) may show an increase by 5% in 2020.

Restrictive measures aimed at COVID-19 containment have led to a marked increase in the use of alternative, low-carbon sources of generation, including wind, solar, hydro and nuclear power…
