Person of the Year
11.12.2020
Time magazine announced Person of the Year. The authors of the publication awarded this status to two contenders: democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
Time's editors named Biden as President-elect of the United States and noted that he is very serious about the COVID-19 pandemic. The publication stressed that Biden and Harris were once rivals, but now they are partners. They "share the belief that responsive leadership can restore lost solidarity". Note that the inauguration of Joseph Biden as President of the United States should be held on January 20. Cereony will take place mostly in the virtual world in light of the pandemic. Biden last week said that during the ceremony, special attention should be paid to measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
