Kazakhstan sent a note to China in connection with the situation on the border. This information appeared in the response of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin to the deputy inquiry.

Before the outbreak of the pandemic, 200 vehicles passed through the border per day, then China limited this number to 20-30. The Head of Government spoke about the work already done on the border with China - increasing the number of cars allowed to pass, as well as the introduction of an Electronic Queuing System. The Prime Minister also reported on the current situation.

"Since November 10, China has limited the number of accepted vehicles from Kazakhstan and banned the movement of vehicles with export goods," he said.

According to Mr. Mamin, official information about the reasons for the decrease in the number of empty cars accepted, as well as the ban on the movement of vehicles with export goods was not received from the Chinese side.

"To resolve this situation, negotiations are underway with the Chinese side to increase trade turnover, including the opening of previously closed checkpoints "Dulaty" - "Kolzhat" and "Maykapshagai" - "Zimunai", the Prime Minister added.

In addition, it is possible for drivers of Chinese vehicles with goods moving to border transport and logistics centers to enter in a visa-free regime for 24 hours. These measures made it possible to increase the number of vehicles accepted by the Chinese side to 80 units per day.

Earlier, Deputies of the Mazhilis appealed to the Government because of the problems of cargo flow at customs checkpoints on the border with China. According to them, at the time of the visit, a queue of 2.5 thousand cars was formed at the checkpoint, stretching for 50 kilometers. Drivers expressed their indignation that their trucks are without movement for 2-3 months.
