"Passed without violations"

Observers from the CSTO did not register any violation during the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan, said Umakhan Umakhanov, deputy chairman of the State Duma committee for CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots.

"This mission includes all the CSTO countries. We have visited 49 polling stations. And there was not any violation at the polling stations that we visited," Umakhanov said at a briefing on Monday.

Elections to the Mazhilis (lower chamber) of the Parliament of Kazakhstan were held on January 10.

According to an exit-poll conducted by a number of non-governmenta.organizations on election day, the Nur Otan party won the election, gaining, according to various sources, 70% or more of the vote.

The required 7% barrier for entry into the Mazhilis of the Parliament, according to the exit-poll, was also achived by the Ak Zhol party and the People's Party of Kazakhstan.

The exit poll covered Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent and all regional centers - 600 polling stations, 244 thousand voters.

The respondents were asked one question: "Which party did you vote for in the parliamentary elections?"

According to the exit poll results:

Nur Otan Party - 71.97%.

Democratic Party of Kazakhstan "Ak Zhol" - 10.18%.

People's Party of Kazakhstan - 9.03%.

People's Democratic Party "Auyl" - 5.75%.

Political Party "Adal" - 3.07%.

It is worth noting that these results are preliminary.  The Central Election Commission will sum up the final results of the elections within seven days - until January 17, 2021.
