This year, the Davos Forum will be celebrating its most special and challenging edition, in the midst of the ongoing COVID pandemic. For this reason, the 51st edition of the World Economic Forum (World Economic Forum, WEF) will be held in two phases: An virtual one in January and another one, face-to-face, in May. The summit will convene politicians, businessmen and representatives of social and cultura.organizations.

The Davos Agenda will feature participation from heads of State and government, CEOs, civil society leaders, global media and youth leaders from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and North America. Participants will discuss a broad variety of topics, including building a better future for work, sustainable development and harnessing the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. 
In addition, the Forum has scheduled an extraordinary meeting this year in Singapore, that will take place between May 13 and 16, according to th.organization itself. This decision has been made factoring in criteria concerning the evolution of the pandemic in Asia and Europe. 

On Monday, the session "Restoring Economic Growth" will be held with the participation of ECB President Christine Lagarde, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Dees, Goldman Sachs head David Solomon, German Minister of Economy and Energy Peter Altmeier, French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno le Maire. 

The key political figure of the first day is Chinese President Xi Jinping.  

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will speak on January 26. 

On January 27, speeches are scheduled by Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. A session with the participation of Bill Gates will be held at the same day. 

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak on January 28, his Japanese counterpart Yoshihide Suga — on January 29. 

The event will be accompanied by virtual events in 430 cities across the world, to emphasise the fact that we face global challenges that require global solutions and action.
