The World Health Organization has registered five Kazakhstan-made COVID-19 candidate vaccines, the Interdepartmental Commission (IAC) on COVID-19 Nonproliferation said. Vaccines are being developed by: Kazakh National Agrarian University in cooperation with Ohio State University (USA); Kazakh National Agrarian University; National Center for Especially Dangerous Infections. M.Aikimbaeva and Research Institute PBB.

"The first is an inactivated vaccine developed by the Research Institute of Biosafety Problems of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science (SRI PBB), which is at the stage of clinical trials. The other four are subunit vaccines at the preclinical stage," the IAC said. Subunit vaccines are being developed by: Kazakh National Agrarian University in cooperation with Ohio State University (USA); Kazakh National Agrarian University; National Center for Especially Dangerous Infections. M. Aikimbaeva and Research Institute PBB, specified in the MVK.

U.S. will have enough Covid-19 vaccines for 300 million Americans by end of summer.

President Joe Biden announced Tuesday that his administration is working with coronavirus vaccine makers to buy another 200 million doses that would arrive this summer -- raising the total to 600 million and ensuring the U.S. will eventually have two shots of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for nearly every American.

Biden also said the federal government will be increasing the number of doses shipped to states -- from 8.6 million doses a week to 10 million a week for the next three weeks, and will start notifying states how many doses they will receive three weeks in advance.
