Kyrgyzstan: overcoming the crisis

The prospects and real possibilities of overcoming the economic crisis in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the potential agenda of the talks between Kyrgyz and Russian Federation presidents which will be held in Moscow were discussed by the participants of the online conference held on the platform of the Club of Regional Experts of the Kyrgyz Republic " Pikir ".
Dolores Tyulebekova, Director of the World Economy Research Center, Economic Research Institute spoke about the results of the year in the EAEU. According to her, among the EAEU countries, the largest drop in GDP, as well as the rise in prices during the pandemic, was shown by Kyrgyzstan. - The volume of foreign trade throughout the EAEU fell by 23.3 percent - mainly due to a decrease in imports by 36.7 percent. Exports show an increase of 5.5 percent in the sector of food and agricultural products, as well as mineral products, the expert shared the data. She also noted that Kyrgyzstan has high potential in trade with Russia and Armenia, and significant compatibility in the sphere of services, construction and transport with Belarus and Kazakhstan.
