Presidents of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Sadyr Zhaparov, adopted a joint statement in which they support the further expansion of trust-based contacts between the two countries.
The head of Kyrgyzstan paid an official visit to Kazakhstan, which will last until March 3. On March 2, talks were held between the leaders of neighboring states. "President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev confirm the inviolability of the course for the comprehensive strengthening of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance on the basis of equality, mutual trust, respect and consideration of each other's interests," the press service of the Kyrgyz leader said The leaders confirm the special importance of further expanding bilateral relations in the field of trade and economic cooperation, ensuring the growth and diversification of the structure of mutual trade in goods and services. They emphasize the need for a comprehensive expansion of business ties aimed at implementing cooperation projects in industry, hydropower, fuel and energy complex, subsurface use, agriculture, processing sector, logistics, road transport infrastructure and banking, - the text says. In addition, the parties note the importance of forming common approaches within the framework of the Eurasian economic integration, including the elaboration of measures aimed at unlocking the potential in full, without barriers, exceptions and restrictions, common markets for goods, services, capital and labor. The governments of the two countries were instructed to speed up the creation of a logistics center on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border to ensure the smooth movement of goods through the territory of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in the conditions of a single economic space. Sadyr Zhaparov will also meet with the First President of the country, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Chairman of the Parliament, Nurlan Nigmatulin, Prime Minister Askar Mamin, and representatives of the business community of Kazakhstan. It should be noted that this is the second foreign visit of Zhaparov after his election as President of Kyrgyzstan. He paid his first visit as head of state to Russia last week.
