A new freight rail route has been launched between China and Kazakhstan, connecting the administrative center of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZhAR), Nanning in southern China, with the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan.
The train carrying 49 containers of heavy construction equipment left the international railway port of Nanning on Saturday and will reach the capital of Kazakhstan within 13 days from the moment of departure. This route with a length of 5031 km was launched as part of the international railway cargo transportation "China-Europe". Before the launch of the new route, it took more than 45 days to transport equipment by road, said the Chinese engineering company Guangxi Construction Engineering Group Construction Machinery Manufacturing. According to Zhou Sytong, a representative of the China Railway Nanning Group, the new route is of great importance for increasing the role of Nanning in the "One Belt, One Road" initiative. Recall that Chinese authorities in the framework of the" OB-OR " intend to increase the capacity of railways and checkpoints in the context of the development of the "Sino-European Express". From March 15, the ban on the export of all goods in the direction of the Dostyk-Alashankou station further to the People's Republic of China ends. Shippers can start shipping in the export direction if there is a Transportation Plan agreed with the People's Republic of China, the press service of KTZ-Cargo Transportation LLP reports. "At the moment, the ban on transportation in the direction of Dostyk station continues to apply until March 31-transit of goods, until March 20-all grain cargo in covered cars and grain carriers," the report says. Recall that the temporary restrictions were introduced at the request of industry associations and shippers.
