The US administration must reinstate sanctions
against Belarus in the event of falsification of the results of the
presidential elections in the republic, said a senior Democrat from the
US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Robert Menendez.
“This
weekend the world must follow the elections in Belarus. If the
president “Lukashenko will steal the election victory or take harsh
measures against the opposition. The United States must be ready to
renew sanctions in accordance with the principles set out in the Law on
Democracy of Belarus,” the US senator told TASS.
Let
us remind you that the presidential election was held in Belarus on
Sunday. According to the CEC, President Alexander Lukashenko won 80.08%
of the vote.

congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on his re-election as President of
the Republic of Belarus.
“The results of the elections held in a
difficult political situation demonstrate people’s support for your
strategic course aimed at strengthening the sovereignty and independence
of Belarus,” the telegram says.
