The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has officially announced the launch of the U.S.-Kazakhstan Business Council (USKZBC).
On the threshold of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, th.organization intends to take an active part in development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, said Myron Brilliant, Executive Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in his statement. Chevron, which is the largest investor in the economy of Kazakhstan, takes over the functions of the Chairman of the Council. «Integration of the U.S.-Kazakhstan Business Association into the U.S. Chamber will provide the business community with tools necessary to develop this important and strategic relationship» - said Nigel Hearne, President for Chevron’s Eurasia Pacific Region. According to Kazakhstan Ambassador to the United States, Yerzhan Kazykhanov, Kazakhstan remains a reliable partner of the United States and is committed to further mutually beneficial cooperation with American companies. «We regard the launch of the U.S.-Kazakhstan Business Council in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as a historical event that gives a strong impetus for enhanced Kazakhstan-U.S. trade and economic partnership and will create new jobs and opportunities in both countries» - stated in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest busines.organization that unites and represents the interests of about 3.5 million American companies, 3 thousand regional chambers, and has more than 90 representative offices abroad. It should be noted that the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the United States is about USD 2 billion a year. Currently, more than 700 American companies operate in Kazakhstan.
