The UK hopes to conclude a trade agreement with the EU that allows almost completely duty-free trade.
A meeting of the Council of Europe is scheduled for October 15. If an agreement cannot be reached by this day, both sides should "accept it and move on", said British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Note that earlier, the EU and the UK could not agree on a transaction due to disagreements over issues related to the fishing industry, including access of Europeans to British waters and fishing quotas.
