By the order of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin dated June 7, 2021, the Economic Research Institute JSC has been officially approved as the Secretariat of the Coordination Council on Sustainable Development Goals.
Kazakhstan is currently implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in state and budget planning system, thereby demonstrating its commitment to achieving goals of the 2030 Agenda.
In 2018, an architecture was created for coordinating the SDGs implementation in Kazakhstan: Coordination Council on Sustainable Development Goals has been established under chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and five interdepartmental working groups on priority areas. The Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a coordinating body of the Council.
Expert and analytical support for the work of the Coordination Council on Sustainable Development Goals is provided by the Economic Research Institute JSC.
On June 7 of this year, by the order of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, the Economic Research Institute JSC has been officially approved as the Secretariat of the Coordination Council on Sustainable Development Goals.
On September 25, 2015, world leaders, including Heads of State and Government, adopted the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 at the UN Headquarters in New York, which includes a list of 17 Sustainable Development Goals aimed at eliminating poverty, combating inequality and injustice, and addressing climate change.
