Employees of the SDG Secretariat participated in the Central Asian Sub-regional Orientation MeetingEstablishing the values of national comparative indicators for SDG 4 "Quality education". Employees of the SDG Secretariat of JSC "Institute of Economic Research" participated in the Central Asian Sub-regional Orientation Meeting to establish the values of national comparative indicators for SDG 4 "Quality Education". The purpose of the meeting is to inform countries about the ongoing work at the global and regional levels to achieve regional and national comparative indicators of SDG 4 "Quality Education". The main task of the meeting: to introduce and discuss with the Central Asian countries the key indicators, calculation methodology and data sources, as well as to draw up an action plan to support countries in establishing the values of national comparative indicators. The advantage of these consultative meetings is that the Central Asian countries share their unique experience in developing a methodology for calculating, selecting indicators, plans and projects in the field of SDG 4 "Quality Education", it was noted at the event. During the meeting, the participants discussed the key elements of the methodology for calculating the indicators of SDG 4 "Quality education", which are required for the formation of national indicators for the Sustainable Development Goal in this direction. Within the framework of sectional discussions on countries, employees of the SDG Secretariat, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as experts of the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan discussed the data collection process for SDG 4 indicators "Quality Education" in Kazakhstan. The technical consultation meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Education and national statistical offices, development institutions, as well as key stakeholders of the Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan). _____ On September 25, 2015, world leaders, including Heads of State and Government, adopted the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda at the UN Headquarters in New York, which includes a list of 17 Sustainable Development Goals aimed at eliminating poverty, combating inequality and injustice, and addressing climate change. Kazakhstan, as a country that has committed itself to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, is actively working in all directions and is ready to contribute to successful achievement of global goals. The Coordination Council for Sustainable Development Goals, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was established on the instructions of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 15, 2018. The Ministry of National Economy is the coordinating body of the Council's work. Economic Research Institute JSC acts as the Secretariat for SDGs, providing an expert and analytical support. On June 7, 2021, Economic Research Institute JSC was officially approved as the Secretariat of the Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development Goals by the order of Askar Mamin.
