23.04.2026 Meeting of the Advisory Working Group on OECD Codes On April 20-21 2026, a hybrid meeting of the Advisory Task Force on the OECD Codes was held at OECD headquarters. The meeting was dedicated to global imbalances and international capital flows. Representatives of the Economic Research Institute (ERI) participated in the event.
23.04.2026 7th High-Level Meeting of the Global Initiative Digital for SMEs Alibek Raipov, Director of the World Economic Research Center at the Economic Research Institute, took an active part in three consecutive events of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) dedicated to digital transformation, financing, and policy support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
21.04.2026 73rd Meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development on Public Governance Committee On April 8–9, 2026, the 73rd meeting of the Public Governance Committee of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (hereinafter – OECD, the Organization) was held at its headquarters in Paris, France. During the meeting, key priorities were discussed in the areas of strengthening trust in public institutions, improving the effectiveness of public governance, digital transformation, as well as preparations for the Global Forum on Strengthening Democracy to be held in October 2026. From “Economic Research Institute” JSC the meeting was attended by A. Raipov, Director of the Center for World Economy Studies, and A. Musina, Leading Expert of the same Center.
20.04.2026 Kazakhstan and Mongolia Continue to Expand Bilateral Trade Kazakhstan and Mongolia continue to expand their bilateral trade. By the end of 2025, total trade turnover between the two countries reached USD 133.5 million, representing a 7.7% increase compared to the previous year (USD 124 million).
13.04.2026 Employees of the Economic Research Institute participated in a training on greenhouse gas emissions forecasting From April 6 to 10, 2026, employees of the Climate Change Center (Kashkinbekova G., Baktiyarkyzy A.) and the Center for Macroeconomic Research and Forecasting (Ospanov A.) of the Economic Research Institute took part in the training workshop titled “Development of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Projections under the Enhanced Transparency Framework: Methodology, Sectoral Approaches, and Modeling Tools.”

On March 31, 2026, the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) published its annual report “Smart City Index: Striving for Trust and Transparency”, which presented the ranking of the smartest cities in the world for 2026.
31.03.2026 OECD Public Services Webinar #1: Putting the User at the Centre with Life Events On 26 March 2026, representatives of the Economic Research Institute took part in a webina.organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), entitled as “OECD Public Services Webinar: Putting the User at the Centre with Life Events.” The event was dedicated to discussing approaches to building more convenient, integrated, and human-centred public administrative services.
30.03.2026 OECD Seminar on Critical Raw Materials (CRM) in Central Asia On March 19, 2026, in Astana, at the Sheraton Hotel, an analytical review presentation and expert seminar were held as part of the OECD project “Enhancing Safety and Transparency in the Management of Critical Minerals in Central Asia”.
16.03.2026 OECD International Webinar on Leveraging Defence Investments for Local Development On 11 March 2026, representatives of the Economic Research Institute took part in an international webina.organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (hereinafter referred to as the OECD) on the topic “Leveraging Defence Investments for Local Development.” The event was held as part of the preparations for the OECD Global Forum on Local Development 2026 and focused on discussing how rising defence spending can contribute to local development, industrial modernization, job creation, and the strengthening of workforce capacity.
16.02.2026 Participation in the OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector On 11–12 February 2026, the OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector was held in a hybrid format. The Forum included a number of dedicated sessions aimed at discussing current challenges in global supply chains and mechanisms for ensuring responsible business conduct. Experts of the Economic Research Institute, World Economy Research Center participated online in the thematic sessions of the Forum.
