The Economic Research Institute (ERI)  i.organizing a series of online events to celebrate its 60th anniversary.

In the period from the end of May to November 2021, virtual round tables will be held on the following topics:

Clarification of the OECD Guidelines and information on the activities of the NCC — end of May 2021

The implementation and compliance with the Guidelines of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (More on the OECD) is coordinated by the National Contact Point (More on NCP). The functions of the NCP Secretariat are performed by the Economic Research Institute JSC.

The event will be attended by representatives of: KazStandart, Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology (CTRM) Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MTI),

representatives of regions, businesses, and trade unions.

BusinessNEXT Forum: the new role of business schools in the economy and society" – June 9, 2021 at 3 p.m.

The main agenda of the Forum is to reset the educational model of training business leaders in the new normal.

New normal is one of the popular terms nowadays identifying a stabilized condition after radical alterations in any areas. Today the new normal determines the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in various aspects of human life, referring to occasions that have recently been unusual, becoming usual.

The forum will be attended by representatives of the expert community, business schools and businesses: representatives of the Nazarbayev University, the Center for Advanced Economic Research of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, BTS Education (Kazakhstan), the Association of SMEs ISKER AZAMAT-EL TIREGI ALE and others.

National projects: realities and modernity — end of June 2021

The virtual round table is dedicated to th.organization and implementation of national projects in accordance with current realities. 

Representatives of the state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade are expected to participate ( Moscow) and other foreign experts.

Child well-being is the key to the country's prosperity — end of June 2021

In 2022, it is planned to introduce the Kazakhstan Child Well-being Index, which will be used to track the effectiveness of the work of state bodies to improve the situation of children. 

Economic Research Institute under the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is developing a draft methodology for calculating the Kazakhstani Child Well-being Index. UNICEF is providing technical support to the project. 

Representatives of UNDP, UNICEF, The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific( ESCAP), the Asian Development Bank( ADB), central government agencies, The Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MISD), the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (COCR of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan), experts and all interested persons.

Prospects for economic policy in the region. Development of recommendations for deepening cooperation — end of June 2021

A virtual round table with the participation of members of the scientific consortium of the SCO countries (China, India, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan) will consider recommendations for strengthening economic cooperation in the region.

Discussion of topical issues of economic development, development of proposals and recommendations for the modernization and improvement of the competitiveness of the economies of the EAEU and CIS countries-July — August 2021

The event will discuss the possibilities of improving the competitiveness of the economies of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Members of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus are expected to participate, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic.

Meeting of the SCO Consortium of Scientific Organizations — September 2021

Discussion of research results, preparation of recommendations for the meeting of ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The meeting of the SCO Consortium of Scientific Organizations will be attended by representatives of research and analytical structures of SCO member states.

Kazakhstan's economic growth in the post-pandemic reality: risks and new challenges

The round table will be attended by representatives of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Asian Development Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Transformation of the policy of territorial and spatial development of Kazakhstan over the years of independence — October 2021

Prominent scientists and experts of Kazakhstan, representatives of state bodies, experts of the Center for Regional Studies of the Economic Research Institute are invited to the virtual round table.

Improving the quality of assessing the socio-economic consequences of regulatory legal acts — November 2021

Among the participants of the events are experts of the ERI, representatives of central state bodies, representatives of the OSCE Academy ( Bishkek), Kazakh and foreign experts.
