Forum with the participation of SDCs

Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Economic Research Institute JSC Bauyrzhan Mukan took part in the forum on the topic: Accreditation: supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

 

The event was held online on June 9 this year. The forum i.organized by National Accreditation Center LLP of the Committee of Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

The main objective of the forum is to create a platform for bringing together government agencies, national quality infrastructure bodies, accreditation entities, public associations and the business community in order to discuss the importance of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals through the prism of accreditation.

 

Chairman of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Abenov opened the forum with a welcoming speech.


The speakers of the forum were: Samat Kairbekov, representative of the Bureau of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Bauyrzhan Mukan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Economic Research  Institute, Zhassurbek Rustamov, international expert of the project "German-Kazakhstan Agrarian and Political Dialogue", Technical Manager of Global G. A. P. Food PLUS GmbH Edite Strazdina, Director Gulmira Abisheva, Head of the Laboratory of the Research and Production Center of Transfusiology, Baltic Control Kazakhstan LLP Tatiana Savchuk, expert auditor of the Body for Confirming the compliance of personnel of DIK Oil LLP Maria Vassina.

 

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the ERI Bauyrzhan Mukan presented a report on the current situation of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Kazakhstan, presented the formed architecture for coordinating the implementation of the SDGs in the country, spoke about the role of the Coordinating Body and the Secretariat of the Coordinating Council for the SDGs.

 

As a result of the Forum, the participants adopted a resolution expressing the following intentions:

 

  • Focus on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals;

  • Strengthen cooperation between government agencies and the business community to reduce technical barriers to trade and protect the domestic market;

  • Actively promote the introduction and development of modern approaches in the field of conformity assessment, taking into account internationally recognized practices;

  • Encourage universities to provide high-quality training of specialists in the field of conformity assessment, in accordance with modern realities and challenges;

  • Build the capacity of quality infrastructure experts, taking into account international experience.

 

The forum is dedicated to the International Accreditation Day.


 

"International Accreditation Day" is a professional holiday of employees who conduct accreditation of testing laboratories in recognition of their technical competence in accordance with the accepted standards for certification bodies. It is celebrated worldwide every year, (since 2008) on June 9.

 

 

On September 25, 2015, at the UN Headquarters in New York, world leaders, including heads of State and Government, adopted The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which includes a list of 17 Sustainable Development Goals aimed at eliminating poverty, combating inequality and injustice, and addressing climate change.

 

The Coordination Council for Sustainable Development Goals, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was established on behalf of the Head of Government on August 15, 2018. The coordinating body of the Council is the Ministry of National Economy.

The Secretariat is the Economic Research Institute JSC, which provides expert and analytical support.
