Joint Action Plan signed between the Secretariat of the National Contact Point of Kazakhstan and the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan

Today, March 31, Ruslan Sultanov, Chairman of the Management Board of ERI JSC and Banu Nurgaziyeva, President of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - the Alliance) signed the Joint Action Plan for Promotion and Adherence to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (hereinafter - the Plan).

This Plan aims to develop and strengthen cooperation in promoting the activities of the National Contact Point on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and dissemination of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Companies. 

Cooperation between the Alliance and ERI will make it possible to disseminate the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Companies to civil society, as well as to develop joint proposals for changes in legislation on non-governmental nonprofi.organizations and trade unions. 

The Alliance, together with the NCP Secretariat, plans to work with the population and trade unions by holding mutual consultations, seminars, and conferences on NCP issues.

In addition, joint activities will enable the examination, monitoring and evaluation of draft laws and draft regulations containing OECD best practice standards.

The Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan is one of the largest national associations, encompassing more than 3,000 nonprofi.organizations throughout the country. The main mission of the Alliance is the development of civil society in Kazakhstan.

The NCP is a collegial advisory body that makes decisions on pending appeals regarding violations of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, including disclosure, human rights, labor and industrial relations, anti-bribery, bribery and extortion, environmental protection, consumer interests, science and technology, competition and taxation. 

The functions of the NCP Secretariat in the Republic of Kazakhstan are performed by Economic Research Institute JSC.
