The range of partners is expanding

On June 7 at the JSC "Economic Research Institute" (ERI) Managing Director Bauyrzhan Munkan, Director of the Secretariat for Sustainable Development Goals Bakytgul Khambar and Deputy Director of the Secretariat for Sustainable Development Goals Altyngul Utebayeva met with the Deputy Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for Central Asia Dumitru Lipkanu.

Bauyrzhan Mukan spoke in detail about the structure and activities of ERI, explained the work being done in preparation for the Second Voluntary National Survey on the Sustainable Development Goals, which will be presented at the High Level Political Forum in July this year in New York.

Bakytgul Khambar noted the fruitful cooperation with UNHCR in the discussion of the project of the Second Voluntary National Review of Refugees in Kazakhstan.

Dumitru Lipkanu, in turn, noted that Kazakhstan does a lot of work on the regulation of refugee issues, there is a law "On Refugees" and thanked the Institute for Economic Research for their interest in refugee issues in Kazakhstan and joint efforts in the preparation of the Second Voluntary National Review.

As a result of the meeting, Bauyrzhan Mukan supported a number of initiatives and proposals voiced by the Deputy Representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, noting that the JSC "Economic Research Institute" is ready for further cooperation and exchange of views.
