Online meeting of the Kazakhstan Secretariat of the National Contact Center (hereinafter – NCC) of Economic Research Institute JSC with Adilet Public Association of the Consumer Rights Protection took place on September, 27.

The meeting was attended by members of the Kazakhstan Secretariat of NCC and Erkin Tompiyev, Chief Executive Officer of Adilet PA.

Dolores Tulebekova, Director of the ERI Center, spoke about the Kazakhstan NCC activities and the provisions of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises in the field of consumer protection.

Erkin Tompiyev presented the activities of Adilet PA and specified that the association has been engaged in lawmaking for over 25 years, under which the draft amendments to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Protection of Consumer Rights” is now being discussed.

Adilet PA also protects the rights and legitimate interests of citizens aimed at meeting the needs of consumers. So, in 2021, we received 40 thousand appeals,” added the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Association.

The Parties also highlighted importance of partnerships at the level of publi.organizations, as they play an important role in promoting economic, environmental, and social progress.

The meeting participants agreed that joint activities will be aimed at disseminating information about the NCC activities and the OECD Guidelines.

National Contact Center (NCC) is a collegial advisory body that makes decisions on pending appeals regarding violations of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, including disclosure, human rights, labor and industrial relations, anti-bribery, bribery and extortion, environmental protection, consumer interests, science and technology, competition and taxation. 

Adilet Public Association of the Consumer Rights Protection is a non-governmental entity aimed at providing legal and advisory services to the citizens of Kazakhstan.
