The Coordination Council on SDGs will function under the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Since the adoption of the SDG Agenda until 2030, Kazakhstan has been paying close attention to its implementation, since the 2030 Agenda presents an ambitious action plan that fully reflects the approaches available today to solving the problems of eliminating extreme poverty, reducing inequality and protecting our planet.


On October 11 of this year, the Coordination Council for Sustainable Development Goals was approved by the Order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Coordination Council for the SDGs has been operating in the country since 2018 under the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This year, the Council will function under the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.


The Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a working body of the Council. 
 

Economic Research Institute JSC will act as the secretariat of the Council, providing expert and analytical work.

The Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development Goals (hereinafter referred to as the Council) is an advisory body under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Council is created to develop proposals and recommendations for the promotion of sustainable development Goals in Kazakhstan.


The main tasks of the Council are to consider and develop proposals for the formation of a unified policy for the implementation of the SDGs.

 

Additionally: This year, Kazakhstan presented the Second Voluntary National Review on the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda in the Field of Sustainable Development at the High-level Political level. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the United Nations Development Programme and the European Union have joined forces t.organize the Second Regional Summit on the SDGs on the theme «Beyond COVID – towards a Just Recovery in Central Asia».
