Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Greece for 9 months of 2020 - $1.3 billion This is 37.1% higher than for the same period of 2021 ($0.9 billion). At the same time, 99% of trade is Kazakhstan's exports to Greece. The increase in exports to Greece is justified by a 41.1% or $350.7 million increase in shipments of oil (from $0.9 to $1.2 billion) and petroleum products from $0.0 to $10.4 million, while aluminum (-17.4% from $70.9 to $58.5 million), coke and bitumen oil (-100% from $0.9 million to $0) and wheat (-26.7% from $1.7 to $1.2 million) are down. Eleven regions of the country supply their products to the land of Hellas. Oil supplies to Greece come from Atyrau region ($1.1bn), West Kazakhstan region ($49.5m) and Mangistau region ($34.1m). All aluminum is supplied from Pavlodar region. Petroleum products are exported from Zhambyl and Kyzylorda regions, and wheat from East Kazakhstan region. It should be noted that on December 5, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev hosted Nikolaos Dendias, Foreign Minister of Greece, who is in Astana on an official visit. This is reported by the press service of the head of state. The parties discussed the prospects for the development of Kazakh-Greek cooperation with a focus on strengthening trade and economic ties. Greece is one of the important partners of our country among the states of the European Union. The President noted that Kazakhstan and Greece actively interact at multilateral platforms. «I would like to stress once again that relations with Greece are a priority for us. We will do everything possible to bring the indicators of mutual cooperation to a new level,», – said the head of state. In turn, Nikolaos Dendias thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the opportunity to exchange views on bilateral and multilateral cooperation. «I would like to note that we consider Kazakhstan as the largest and priority country for us in Central Asia, which is a guarantor of stability in the region. Greece expresses its readiness for further mutually beneficial cooperation with your country,», – said the Minister. In addition, during the conversation there was an exchange of views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda.
