On 8th December 2022 International institute of management development(IMD Lausanne, Switzerland) announced results of annual talent rating. In 2022 Kazakhstan took 39th place out of 63 countries in the IMD global talent rating, having risen by 2 positions compared to the result of last year. It is worth mentioning, that the annual improvement of Kazakhstan's position in the ranking has diverse reasons. If in the results of last year the key role in the improvement was played by the quality of skills and competencies available in the country's personnel reserve, then in the current year it is the resources intended for the development of the local workforce. Position of Kazakhstan in Worldwide talent rating IMD- 2022  A significant increase in positions in the Investment and Development factor was the reason for the country's entry into the top 40 countries in the talent rating. This was mainly facilitated by an increase in total public spending on education from 2.86% of GDP (data for 2019) to 4.6% of GDP (data for 2020), which allowed it to rise from 60th to 36th place in this indicator. In addition, it is worth mentioning the improvement in the assessment of respondents who noted an increase in the priority in staff training in companies (an increase from 22 to 13 place). It should be noted that more than 50% of the indicators in the rating are questionings, so the result of the quality of the personnel reserve of the economy depends on the opinion of business representatives. In the current year, most of the survey indicators show a decline. At the same time, we should especially note the significant deterioration in respondents' assessments of fair justice in the country (-14 points), brain drain, which hinders the competitiveness of the economy (decrease by 12 points), quality of life (-6 points) and competence of top managers ( - 6 points). Nevertheless, respondents gave a high assessment of the availability of financial specialists (+ 11 points) and skilled labor force (+ 11 points) in the labor market. The 2022 research included 63 countries. Switzerland tops the top 10 economies in the talent ratings for the sixth consecutive year, showing a trend of employees being motivated in more competitive countries and less in non-competitive ones. The top 10 countries also included Sweden (2nd place), Iceland (3rd place), Norway (4th place), Denmark (5th place), Finland (6th place), Luxembourg (7th place), Austria (8th place), the Netherlands (9th place), Germany (10th place). However, Singapore, despite the 12th position in the overall ranking, leads in readiness for the future, showing the high quality of skills and competencies available in the country
