Record Turnover Between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the first 10 months of 2022 reached $4.05 bln, 34.7% higher than in the same period of 2021 ($3.0 bln). Note that this turnover between the countries is an all-time record.

Exports from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan in January-October 2022 increased by 38.4% to $3.0 bln.


A greater rise in exports is observed for the following goods: 
  • wheat – by 25.3% or $493.0 to $617.8 mln
  • telephone sets – by 66.4%, or $177.2 to $294.7 mln 
  • copper ores and concentrates – up 3.2 times, or $52.5 to $166.1 mln 
  • raw aluminum – up 3.3 times or $47.3 to $154.2 mln 
  • cars – up 2 times or $92.8 to $188.0 mln
  • fresh or chilled beef – up 5.1 times or $13.0 to $66.1 mln 
  • sunflower oil – by 77.8%, or $57.2 to $101.7 mln

However, a decline in export supplies is being observed.
  • Live cattle (-97.2%)
  • cement (-54.4% to $23.3 mln)
  • petroleum products (-33.5% to $42.5 mln)
  • electricity (-100%), live sheep and goats (-100%)

In January-October 2022, imports to Kazakhstan from Uzbekistan increased by 25% to $1.05 bln.

A greater rise in exports is observed for the following goods:
  • car bodies – up 80.1 times or $2.4 to $188.3 mln 
  • spark-ignited internal combustion engine – up from $0.0 to $123.4 mln 
  • parts and accessories for cars and tractors – up 12.3 times or $2.3 to $27.8 mln
  • flat-rolled clad products – up 2.1 times or $17.2 to $36.1 mln
  • lead ores and concentrates – up 2.1 times or $16.5 to $34.1 mln
  • construction bricks – by 47.5% or $20.3 to$29.9 mln
  • grapes – by 31.6% or $27.0 to $35.6 mln

However, a decline in import supplies is being observed. 
  • cars (-100% from $259.7 mln) 
  • apricots, cherries, sweet cherries, peaches, plums and thorns, fresh (-52.9% to $26.2 mln)
  • hot-rolled unalloyed steel bars (-57.8% to $4.6 mln)
  • dried fruit, nut or dried fruit mixes (-25.5% to $9.9 mln)
  • petroleum products (-66.9% to $1.7 mln).
