Regional Inflation in January 2024

As of January this year Kazakhstan has witnessed the 11th consecutive month of decreasing annual consumer inflation reaching a rate of 9.5%. This marks the lowest level since February 2022. Let's delve into the state of price growth in various regions across the country.

In the yearly comparison the highest price growth is exhibited in Karaganda Region (11.3%), Mangystau Region (10.6%), and East Kazakhstan Region (10.1%). 

In all regions the inflation rate is significantly lower than the figures from the previous year, with a particularly noteworthy decrease in inflation in Astana dropping from 23.8% to 8.8%. The minimum inflation rate is recorded in Aktobe (8.6%), Almaty (8.5%), and Kyzylorda Regions (8.1%).
