
On June 11, 2026, a seminar titled “China-Kazakhstan Cooperation in the Digital and Green Economy” was held in Hangzhou, China, at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. The event wa.organized by the Zhejiang Society for Regional and Country Studies.
The seminar brought together representatives of leading think tanks, research institutes, universities, and business communities from both countries. The Chinese side was represented by experts from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, as well as major corporations operating in foreign trade, postal and telecommunications services, and digital solutions.
The Kazakh side included representatives of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute for Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as research and educational centers specializing in artificial intelligence and the digital economy.
As part of the Kazakh delegation, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC Economic Research Institute, Birzhan Batkeyev, delivered a presentation titled “Development of Kazakhstan-China Cooperation in the Context of Digital Transformation and the Global Energy Transition”.
In his remarks, he highlighted the prospects for implementing joint projects in digital infrastructure, transport and logistics technologies, investment cooperation, and the training of highly qualified professionals.
Particular attention was given to the potential for expanding research and educational cooperation, including the implementation of joint research initiatives and enhanced expert collaboration.
Following the seminar, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the partnership between Kazakhstan and China, emphasizing the significant potential for joint initiatives in innovation-driven and sustainable development.
