On September 18, 2026, Kazakhstan’s National Contact Point for Responsible Business Conduct (NCP) held a specialized training session for the management of ZETA, a Kazakhstan-based manufacturing company.
Alisher
Bazarbayev, Head of the Secretariat of Kazakhstan’s NCP and
Deputy Director of the Center for World Economy Studies at the
Economic Research Institute JSC, presented the key provisions of the
OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible
Business Conduct and approaches to conducting due diligence.
The
training focused primarily on the practical application of these
approaches in manufacturing companies. The parties discussed supply
chain risk management, working conditions, environmental impacts, the
origin of raw materials, and engagement with suppliers.
Particular
attention was paid to the risk-based approach, under which
companies are encouraged to first identify the most significant
potential and actual adverse impacts, set priorities, and take
measures to prevent or mitigate them.
The
activities of Kazakhstan’s NCP were also presented. In addition to
providing information, guidance, and consultations, the NCP can serve
as a neutral, non-judicial platform for dialogue and mediation in
specific instances related to the implementation of the OECD
Guidelines.
During
the meeting, ZETA representatives also presented the company’s
activities, including projects aimed at modernizing production,
introducing energy-efficient technologies, and developing plastic
recycling.
At
the conclusion of the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities
for further cooperation and the exchange of practical experience.
