Kazakhstan's exports to the EAEU countries

Kazakhstan's exports to the EAEU countries in January-July 2020 compared to January-July 2015 in value terms decreased by 12.4% (by USD 404 million) and amounted to USD 2.8 billion.
 

Exports to Russia decreased by 11.6% (to USD 2.5 billion), to Kyrgyzstan — by 21.2% (to USD 289 million), to Belarus - by 4.4 (to USD 37.1 million). While exports to Armenia increased 7 times (to USD 4.3 million).
 
What affected the decline in supplies to the EAEU?

- oil - by 99% (from 546 to USD 7.4 million)
- natural uranium - by 53% (from 344 to USD 162 million)
- aluminum oxide - by 73% (from 193 to USD 51.4 million)
- gold - by 96% (from 97.8 to USD 4.0 million)
- chrome ores - by 56% (from 87.9 to USD 38.4 million)

The drop in exports for only 5 of the above-mentioned products amounted to about USD 1 billion. Supplies of coal (-29%), natural gas (-36%), aluminum (-85%), wheat (-57%), and electricity (-81%) also declined.
 
While the export of Kazakhstan's processed finished products to the EAEU increased by 59% - from 251 to USD 400.1 million.
 
Not all commodities are lost in the volume of exports: exports of precious metals (15.6 times – from 16.6 to USD 259.8 million), copper ores (5.2 times – from 32.9 to USD 169.9 million), hot rolled products (2.1 times – from 65.1 to USD 137.7 million) and ferroalloys (+ 43% – from 34.6 to USD 49.3 million) increased significantly.
 
Among non-primary products, we note an increase in exports of the following goods:

- bearings – 2.3 times growth (from 13.5 to USD 31.6 million)
- batteries – growth by 86% (from 9.8 to USD 18.2 million)
- transformers – growth by 3.8 times (from 3.9 to USD 14.9 million)
- rails – new product (from 0 to USD 8.6 million)
- medicines - growth by 4.9 times (from 5.6 to USD 27.1 million)
- chocolate – growth by 37% (from 8.8 to USD 12.1 million)
- flour – growth of 3.7 times (from 4.4 to USD 16.4 million)
- macaroni – 3 times growth (from 3.3 to USD 9.9 million)
- tea – 2 times growth (from 4.9 to USD 9.7 million)
