The expert assessment of the National Contact Point of Kazakhstan has begun

In Astana, on October 24, 2023, Economic Research Institute (ERI) JSC hosted an expert assessment of the NCP of Kazakhstan, conducted by the OECD Secretariat, as well as representatives of the National Contact Points of South Korea and Egypt. Expert assessment is necessary to analyze the functioning of the NCP for compliance with the basic criteria set out in the Procedural Guide to the OECD Guidelines. This assessment is scheduled for the period from October 24 to 26 this year. The program of the event consists of several question-and-answer sessions with representatives of government agencies, civil society, as well as the business community, etc. At the official part of the event, Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov made a welcoming speech marking the opening of the assessment. The Minister noted: "For Kazakhstan, the OECD is an example of working collective agreements, an unshakable base of institutional world memory and knowledge. I am confident that the expert assessment will be fruitful and effective, and will also allow us to form a complete picture of the work of the NCP, the Government's policy in the field of responsible business conduct and develop effective recommendations for further improvement of the Kazakhstan NCP." The result of the expert assessment is identification of strengths, as well as development of recommendations to eliminate problematic issues in the activities of the NCP under consideration, which are reflected in the final reportof OECD Secretariat.
