On February 7, 2023, the Kazakhstan office of the National Contact Point (the Secretariat, NCP) held a meeting with Ye.S. Nikitinskaya, the Chairman of the Committee on Self-Regulation Development of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken"
During this meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation, including issues such as development and promotion of corporate governance in Kazakhstan, the study of information covering Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct.
Questions were also raised about considering the possibility and necessity of improving the corporate governance strategy through the introduction and development of corporate governance standards in open joint stock companies.
In turn, Ye.s. Nikitinskaya expressed interest in the activities of the NCP, and also noted that the corporate development of enterprises will lead to the need to introduce standards of responsible business conduct, and, as a result, to improve the quality and culture of corporate governance in general, which will eventually reduce the level of number of problems that can be solved only under these conditions standards in the practical activities of enterprises.
At the end of the meeting, the participants thanked each other for fruitful conversation and agreed on further joint cooperation.
